A SOCIAL enterprise startup has trialed the world’s first air filtration and disinfection system in the battle against Covid-19.

Adjutor, which is based in Bognor Regis and has an office in Fareham, was founded by two engineers – Alexander Mugford and Jonathan Lex – who have more than 50 years’ combined experience in global supply chain and project management.

They set up the social enterprise in June to focus on respiratory health and clean air. Profits go back into product development and campaigns.

Jonathan said: ‘This technology is the only filtration system in the world that has been successfully trialled against the Coronavirus - and verified in UK clinical settings. As a UK Chartered Engineer with two decades experience in filtration technology, I have never seen such a cost effective and capable solution for purifying the air we breathe.

‘Its unique technology can provide us all with clean air whilst having a huge impact on businesses, healthcare providers and educational facilities trying to spring back after a difficult year by significantly lowering the risk of contracting Covid-19 via aerosol droplets.’

He said that unlike other systems, Aura Air uses six stages of purification to remove viruses, bacteria and mould - while providing monitoring through its app.

The Aura Air has been verified in clinical trials at Israel’s Sheba Medical Center, which has treated more than 300 Covid-19 patients since March. The compact Aura Air system has now also been tested in staff rooms, operating rooms of patients diagnosed with the virus and rooms of at-risk patients.

The Aura Air costs £500 or £33 per month for a rental package inclusive of filter changes, go to adjutor.uk
