Southsea-based illustrator and designer opens studio offering bespoke designs
A NEW print studio has opened its doors in Southsea offering bespoke design, custom embroidery and screen printing.
Sea Dog Print Studio, in Goldsmith Avenue, held an open evening – complete with DJ and refreshments – to launch its services.
Business owner Stu Linfield, from Southsea, said he was pleased to see so many people come along to the launch and to see so many taking an interest in the studio.
The 35-year-old said: ‘It went really well. We were really pleased with the success.
‘It was really nice to show people the studio – they had the ability to try screen prints and print T-shirts.’
‘It’s been really busy so far, we have been rushed off our feet. And by the looks of it, it’s going to get busier.
‘We are now hoping to make the opening event into an annual thing to keep people aware of what we do.’
Stu employs five staff and says that they are a close-knit team.
They all knew each other previously, so the strong team ethic makes it a good atmosphere to work in and helps towards delivering high quality goods.
This is the first time that Stu has owned his own business and he admits that opening a new place seemed a bit overwhelming at first.
‘It was quite daunting, but it was quite exciting as well,’ he said.
But Stu said he was confident of making the business a success, as he already has 10 years of experience in the industry as an illustrator and designer.
The studio was previously used for similar purposes, so the renovation job was a fairly simple task.
‘I just had to get a few bits of equipment and decorate it,’ said Stu.
He added that Sea Dog can cater for any size job and that prices vary depending on the size and nature of the job.
The studio is open from 9.30am to 5.30pm every day.
