Southsea Co-op store re-opening after 400k investment

A Co-operative food store in Albert Road, Southsea is re-opening on Monday following a £400,000 upgrade.

It has undergone a complete revamp and now hopes to do more work with the community and fundraising.

Sue Carstairs a member of the food store team, will work to foster involvement in activities, from local fundraising initiatives to helping to understand and develop solutions to meet community needs, including support for the British Red Cross.

Store manager Jake Briggs said: ‘We’re thrilled to have made such a significant investment in Southsea and delighted that we have a fantastic new food store with which to serve the community – it is an 
exciting time for the whole team.

‘The store will be a hub for the local community, and customers will be able to find out what is going on locally, and learn about how The Co-operative can benefit local groups.’

There will be offers and promotions in and around the store to mark its re-launch.
