Becketts restaurant and hotel in Southsea held a ‘doggy brunch’ attracting around 40 dachshunds who enjoyed a dog-friendly prosecco, beer and baked treats.

Their humans were also included in the day, as they enjoyed the restaurant’s standard brunch menu, as well as two-for-one cocktails and half price prosecco.

The team at Becketts have announced that February’s theme will be French Bulldogs and will be held on Saturday, February 29.

There was a fancy dress theme and the winner took home a £20 Becketts voucher.

The event was inspired by owner Soraya Parker’s pooch Enzo, who was the head judge of the best-dressed dog competition.

Costumes included tutus, knitwear, hoodies and waistcoats.
