Major fanfare for opening of SpudBros in Portsmouth with early morning queues
Queues formed outside the city’s new SpudBros Express eatery which opened its doors today (January 27) - with the influencers behind the business set to show their support.
The latest jacket potato venue opened at midday on Tuesday, January 27 in Commercial Road, with SpudBros fans eagerly anticipating the launch, with franchisee Sunny Bassi hoping to make the eatery a success.
There were early morning queue to meet brothers Jacob and Harley Nelson who have transformed their family business and are also successful influencers, with more than 4.8 million followers on TikTok. First in the line wass Levi Libby who got down to the Commercial Road location at 11.30pm last night who secured his free jacket potato and £100 prize.
It follows the controversy surrounding their opening, with many in the community showing their support for the Jacket Potato Ladies amid fears her city centre business could be adversely affected. This led to a visit by influencer Spud Man last week who also visited Spud Fusion in Fratton which was forced to change its name in a row with SpudBros.
The new Portsmouth store will be open from midday until 8pm.
