The key priorities of this strategy, which feature in a new monthly online events programme, include deploying renewable energy solutions and other zero carbon technologies, progressing mobility for all through efficient and sustainable transport, communities capitalising on the value of biodiversity and natural systems.

The strategy will also aim to deliver resilient homes and businesses and reduce resource use including water, waste and energy.

Ben Earl, chairman of Future South said: ‘Future South is uniquely placed to enable the public-private activity required to support local authorities’ sustainability strategies and deliver a zero-carbon economy. We are clearly living in very uncertain times at present; however the challenges of climate change have not gone away while we deal with the impact of Covid-19. Many people are reflecting that we cannot return to ‘normal’ and we agree - we would like to hear from individuals, businesses and organisations that want to join us on this journey to deliver a new normal.’
