The Woodpecker, in London Road, Waterlooville, reopened on Thursday, April 16 after undergoing a major revamp which has enhanced the restaurant and pub from top to bottom.
The venue, which is part of Ember Inns, temporarily closed on Sunday, March 29 for the remodel to be completed - and it has already gone down a treat with eager customers who visited as soon as it opened at 12noon.
James Vincent, general manager at The Woodpecker, said: “Having taken over as the manager late last year, I’m proud to be at the helm of the new look Woodpecker. As well as refreshing the building we’ve also brought in a brand-new team and we can't wait for everyone in the community to see what we've done with the place.
“It’s now my ambition to make The Woodpecker one of the best pubs in the country. So whether you've been coming here for years or you're stepping through our doors for the first time, you'll still find that cosy, warm welcome that makes this pub so special.”
The Woodpecker has updated its menu to include a wide range of delicious new dishes from pub classics to exciting new favourites, such as grilled salmon fillet, pork tomahawk and katsu chicken rice bowl. For dessert you can try the banoffee sundae or the much-loved classic belgian chocolate brownie.
Four-legged friends are also welcome at the pub is dog-friendly where they can tuck into water, dog treats and toys available on request to ensure they are as comfortable as their owners.
