Gunwharf Quays celebrated Chinese New Year on Saturday with a daring performance from the UK Shaolin Temple.

The martial artists showed off their skills with various weapons, stick breaking and what they can do with their bare hands.

But shoppers were left shocked when Matt Bindon had two bricks smashed over his head by a sledgehammer.

Matt was given the name Shi Heng Liang by monks at the North Shaolin Temple, in China.

The warriors spend years developing their minds and breathing to be able to perform such moves and Matt showed no pain.
