Owner George Purnell launched the new meals after having many customers and friends tell him that there weren’t enough places to have healthy meals prepared for them at a low price.

The 27-year-old said: ‘Wellbeing is so important and it is very big at the moment. Eating right makes a big difference to that and it is nice to do something different with our chefs.

‘We’ve heard that a lot of meal prep meals are bland and being a restaurant we feel we can add flavour to them. If you have something that has flavour in it you will feel full and that you have had something good to eat.’

The meals are £4 each and are available on a pay-as-you-go basis, however George is putting plans in place to introduce a subscription service.

There are meals such as cajun chicken with green beans and sweet potatoes and customers can mix and match the protein, carb and vegetable options.

They were designed by Koop and Kraft’s head chef Sebastian Newbold, who said: ‘It has been a lot of hard work and months of planning, but it has been worthwhile and all the hard work has come together.’

George said he is hoping the service, which was launched on Monday, February 17, will grow and they will look to launch meals targeted at people who are looking to lose weight too.

He said: ‘It is exciting to be launching. I’m excited to get it going but I am more excited to see how it can grow. It will be nice to see where it is in 12 months' time.’
