Havant MP Alan Mak appointed to Shadow Cabinet by new Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch
He said: "I'm honoured to join the Shadow Cabinet as Shadow Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology.
"I look forward to championing UK science and tech and working hard to deliver a Conservative victory led by Kemi Badenoch at the next General Election."

Hide AdHe added: "My work as Havant Constituency MP is unchanged though, and I will remain active in our community, working hard for and helping local people plus organising community events such as my annual Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair, which takes place this year on 8 November."

Mr Mak was first elected as MP for Havant in 2015 and has previously served as a Minister in both the Department of Business and Trade and the Cabinet Office during the previous Conservative Government.
He also served as a Minister in the Treasury and the Government Whips’ Office, plus in the Ministerial teams at the Ministry of Defence and the Department for Work and Pensions.
