Havant MP Alan Mak has cut the ribbon to officially open the new Havant Garden Centre.

The former Dobbies site in Bartons Road, Havant has been transformed after being bought by British Garden Centres, the UK’s largest family-owned garden centre group.

Visitors queued to be among the first to look around and take advantage of special opening week offers. The new store offers plants, sundries, garden accessories, homeware, gifts and outdoor furniture.

The dog-friendly garden centre is fully accessible to wheelchair users and has plenty of free parking.

Mr Mak said: "It was a pleasure to cut the ribbon and declare the new Havant Garden Centre officially open. It's great to see this family-run business investing in Havant and creating what is much more than a store.

"With an expanded restaurant and an indoor soft play area, it's somewhere for the whole family to enjoy a visit."
