Royal Mail is celebrating the tradition of Christmas cards this year

Royal Mail is spreading even more festive cheer this Christmas with its new Magical Card Prize Draw to celebrate the cherished tradition of sending Christmas cards.

From December 1 to 24, Royal Mail will give away a £10,000 prize every day, shared equally between the winning card’s sender and the recipient, with a bumper giveaway of £100,000 on Christmas Eve.

There will also be 50 prizes of £1,000, 75 prizes of £500 and 375 prizes of £50 - as well as another bumper prize of £50,000 drawn on a surprise day – all to be shared between senders and recipients.

How to enter

To enter, simply take a photo of a Christmas card with a 2025 Christmas stamp and the word ‘magical’ written on the envelope. Upload it to www.royalmailmagic.com along with details of you and the recipient.

Last recommended posting dates

Royal Mail is also reminding people to send their cards by the last recommended posting dates to arrive in time for the big day - Wednesday 17 December for Second Class and Saturday 20 December for First Class.

You can post a card by these dates and enter upload your photo up until December 24 for a chance to win.

Ensure the full address is written clearly to ensure cards arrive safely.

Richard Travers, Managing Director of Letters at Royal Mail, said:“Sending cards is a wonderful way to spread some festive cheer and we are making it even more special this year with our Magical Card Prize Draw. With more than 1,000 cash prizes to be won, this is our way of celebrating the joy of Christmas cards and giving something back to those who are keeping the tradition alive.”
