Waterlooville care home residents get decorating
Denmead Grange Care Home is a warm and very welcoming place. This weekend the festive tunes started and the Activities team had an enthusiastic squad of very willing helpers. Denmead Granges residents were completely involved in the decoration of more than nine Christmas trees throughout their beautiful home.
There was happy discussion of baubles and tinsel, the sourcing of trees in days gone by; tales of sawing trees down amidst snowdrifts and dragging home through the snow! Christmas is a time of great traditions and we shared many a happy memories.
One family have a bauble box for each of the children – acquiring a bauble each year and the ritual dressing of the tree when each child picks each in year order, popping onto the tree whilst regales the tale of source and cost from the accompanying sheet. Others of tales where real candles were lit on trees that were drying out each day in drawing rooms with roaring fires; ‘elf and safety eh!’.
Whether it is paper chins of glittery stars, angels or snow globes, the charms of this well-decorated home are a sight to behold.
The Denmead Grange residents have a home filled with charm, festive touches, twinkling lights, happy staff and a diary of activities that means there is so much more to come. There are many residents joining for Festive respite; 24/7 care in luxurious setting where everyone can relax and have a magically wonderful time
