When the College opened in 1963 it had six departments including Building and Surveying, Commerce and General Studies, Engineering, Mathematics and Science and Hotel and Catering.

The college has now expanded to four sites across the city and recently completed a 56.4 million pounds building programme. The College now offers apprenticeships in more than 40 subject areas and has introduced new courses including journalism, IT, automotive and hairdressing and beauty therapy.

Highbury College prides itself on student satisfaction and in a recent survey 94 percent of students said they were happy with both their course and the College.

'˜We are  committed to providing a world class learning experience for our students and look forward to many more years of success,' added Ms Mbubaegbu.
