Cowplain students visit Microsoft headquarters

Students from Cowplain Community School visited Microsoft's UK headquarters at the Thames Valley Park campus in Reading for an education event.

During the day the student ambassadors from Years 7, 8 and 9 were given access to Office 365, the latest online version of the Microsoft Office package.

The pupils toured the facilities and also took part in a PowerPoint challenge and took second place.

They won Office 365 training from Coretek, one of Microsoft’s partner companies.

Cowplain Community School will soon be offering every student five free copies of this software, which includes Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Rebecca Connell, Head of Computing at Cowplain, said: ‘This was a really valuable opportunity to stay up to date with student-focused technology.’
