Easter bonnet parades are one of the traditions of primary school, but with schools closed, Sophia Benham, 45, didn’t want children missing out on all the fun and so has created a virtual Facebook parade.

‘There will obviously be no competitions at school this year and so families can now make their own bonnets and post them on Facebook. Children can get bored at the moment and this is a fun thing for families to do together,’ said Sophia.

The Easter bonnets which get the most likes will win a range of chocolate prizes donated by the Crafty Chocolatier and Sweet Occasions, both based in Waterlooville.

‘There is a lot of sadness at the moment and hopefully this can help cheer people up,’ added Sophia.
