Fort commemorates WW1 centenary

FORT Nelson is hosting a series of events to commemorate the centenary of the First World War.Â

Visitors can explore the fort at war and experience a unique evening event where concert parties made popular during the war will be brought to life.

On Remembrance Sunday there will be an immersive sound experience marking the final hours of the war.

Events manager Mark Jackson said: '˜Fort Nelson played an important role during the First World War. We have a number of prominent objects from the period including the 180-tonne Railway Howitzer '“ the largest surviving gun.'

A series of events will be focused around half term with the Great War concert party taking place on October 26.
