It comes after the property company’s Alver Village redevelopment project nears completion. It comprises of two, three and four-bedroom homes.

Paul Cooper, of Taylor Wimpey, made the visit to the primary school in Nimrod Drive and challenged the children to design a health and safety poster.

The winning entry will be displayed at the Alver Village site.

‘They can seem like exciting places – so it is vital to explain that in reality they are places which are full of serious dangers.’

Assistant headteacher Amanda Wray welcomed the visit.

She said the children learned a lot about keeping safe.

‘A lot of the children are familiar with Taylor Wimpey’s Alver Village development,’ she said. ‘It was important for them to learn about the dangers associated with a construction site.

‘Paul did a fantastic job of engaging with the children, especially during the question and answer section, which the pupils really enjoyed.’
