Havant and South Downs College to benefit from £1.3m grant

The money has been earmarked to renovate and upgrade buildings to help the college deliver new T-level qualifications as well as carrying out vital repairs across the college estate.

T-level qualifications have been introduced this year to provide youngsters with a more vocational qualification pathway than traditional A-levels.

College principal and chief executive officer, Mike Gaston, commented: ‘It is exciting news that we are one of the 180 colleges to receive this funding.

‘Our South Downs campus now has state-of-the-art provision for our new T-level students and this funding will help us move one step further toward realising our three-year estate improvement strategy across all three of our campuses.’

The funding is the first part of a £1.5 billion government investment to transform colleges within five years.
