MP praises schools after Ofsted report

MP George Hollingbery is delighted with Meon Valley schools' performance after 28 out of 35 received good or outstanding reports in their recent Ofsted inspections.

He said: ‘Here in the Meon Valley we are blessed with a host of fantastic schools giving children of all ages and abilities the very best start in life.’

Seven schools were given an outstanding report and Mr Hollingbery hailed the role played by the teachers.

He said: ‘I’d like to pay tribute to the teachers for all the hard work they put into achieving this level of success which is very much valued by parents.

‘Of course, there are some schools that require improvement, but I know they are working hard to better the situation and, crucially, there are no failing schools in the constituency.’

The seven that received an outstanding report from Ofsted were: Hambledon Primary School, Droxford Junior School, Bishop’s Waltham Infant School, Newtown Soberton Infant School, Meonstoke Church Of England School (Infant) Cheriton Primary School and Horndean Infant School.
