MP scoops school cash in currency competition

AN MP has claimed the top prize in a competition to win £10,000 for schools in her constituency.

Learners across Gosport will all benefit from a donation after the town’s MP Caroline Dinenage clinched the cash after attending an event in Parliament about digital currencies.

Previous winners of the annual event have run their own competitions with the cash – urging schools to take part in a bid to win it.

But Ms Dinenage has instead vowed to share it equally among all schools in Gosport, meaning each will get £250 to spend as they wish.

She said: ‘We sometimes hear of schools struggling to find the money they need for specific projects, items or trips.

‘Dividing it equally means that each school will get about £250 and there are no losers – everyone’s a winner!’

School figures will collect their money at a cheque presentation on Friday, which will be attended by sponsor the Digital Currency Foundation.
