Sharing her life story...

THE niece of the late Nelson Mandela made a visit to a secondary school to talk about her experiences growing up.

Pumeza Mandela spoke to pupils at Horndean Technology College about her work and also discussed children’s rights across the world.

Students learnt about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Layla Funnell, rights respecting co-ordinator at Horndean, said: ‘We were incredibly excited that we got to host such a fantastic event for young people within our local area.

‘Our students are committed to promoting children’s rights and we are proud of their understanding of The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Our students valued the wonderful opportunity to discuss Pumeza’s experiences as a young person.’
