A statement from the college’s business manager Chris Loveday said: ‘We have taken the difficult decision to send home the entire year group (Year 11) following two positive cases within 24 hours.
‘We are fortunate that we have strict processes in place that thus far have limited the contacts to a single year group bubble.

With pupils in their vital final year studying for GCSE examinations, the school is keen to stress that pupils will be able to study remotely from home.
Mr Loveday said: ‘Our Year 11 pupils will be taught their normal timetable as live lessons online from tomorrow to ensure that they do not fall behind as a result of this decision.
‘We continue to monitor the situation and work closely with Public Health England.’
