Thousands informed about child sex abuse

THOUSANDS of children across the city have attended assemblies about preventing sexual abuse.

A total of 1,547 children at 12 primary schools in Portsmouth have attended one of the child cruelty charity the NSPCC’s ‘Speak Out. Stay Safe’ assemblies this academic year.

The programme uses child-friendly and interactive workshops to teach pupils aged four to 11 to learn about the different types of abuse, including sexual abuse and who to turn to if worried.
