Year 8 Portsmouth High School pupils rise to transport challenge

PUPILS from Portsmouth High School have been taking part in a technology challenge to look at how they would improve the city’s transport system.

The Year 8 Challenge Day was led by head of design and technology, Mr Graeme Field, who said: ‘The girls completed some excellent design work to illustrate how a rapid transport system would benefit the city of Portsmouth.’

‘Each team decided on who would be undertaking the team roles and developed a plan for their route, rolling stock and marketing materials and showed their fresh and innovative thinking in a short presentation’. Ella Jones, Isabelle Gabriel, Tina Wang and Emma Smithin represented the winning Team Solent.
