Coronavirus: Gosport Borough Council closes its doors amid fears

GOSPORT Borough Council closed its town hall on Thursday amid coronavirus fears.

The authority has also taken the precaution of reducing non-essential council services.

The decision was also taken to close council-managed buildings, including the Town Hall.

‘The council's duty of care to residents remains its main concern, and it is focusing on keeping essential services running,’ a statement from the council said.

‘Its priorities are keeping continuity of care, supporting vulnerable residents and maintaining the local economy.’
