Burial of cremated remains suspended at Portchester Crematorium due to coronavirus
While existing bookings at Portchester Crematorium will be honoured, all other burials of cremated remains in Fareham are suspended.

Hide AdThe measure has been taken to allow for an increase in the number of burials which can take place, according to Fareham Borough Council.
The decision is in keeping with cemetery legal regulations and follows similar work by local authorities across the country.
Councillor Simon Martin, executive member for Streetscene, said: ‘This is an unfortunate but necessary measure which the council has had to take at this difficult time.

The crematorium has already placed restrictions on funerals and closed its grounds to members of the public.
Funerals can only be attended by immediate family members who are not experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19 or self-isolating.
