Coronavirus: Hampshire passes 1,000 cases of Covid-19 as total number of UK cases reaches 41,903

THE number of confirmed cases of coronavirus across Hampshire has passed 1,000.

The Department of Health and Social Care announced that as of Saturday, April 4, a total of 41,903 had tested positive for the virus across the country.

A total of 3,735 people have died after contracting coronavirus – an increase of 708 from Friday.

Public Health England’s Covid-19 tracker shows that the number of cases of the virus across Hampshire has now reached 1,043.

This includes 89 in Portsmouth and 145 in Southampton.

So far 56 coronavirus patients who were being treated at Queen Alexandra Hospital have died.
