Coronavirus in Portsmouth: Queen Alexandra Hospital records first Covid-19 death since June

According to statistics released by NHS England, a new death from Covid-19 has been recorded at the hospital in Cosham.

The death was recorded by Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs the hospital.

Between August 19 and 25, the Office for National Statistics believes a further 27,100 people had Covid-19.

Across the UK, a total of 10 new deaths have been recorded, with 23 cases in Hampshire over the past day.

It comes following a rise in Portsmouth’s infection rate last week, from 6.0 to 7.9 cases per 100,000 residents.

At this time, nothing is known about the person who died at QA Hospital.
