Coronavirus in Portsmouth: Number of deaths in city, Fareham, Gosport, Havant, Waterlooville and Hayling Island

FIGURES released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show how many people have died from coronavirus in Portsmouth and the surrounding areas.

The ONS has published a new breakdown area-by-area of the confirmed deaths involving Covid-19 for England and Wales between March 1 and June 30.

As part of the report, the ONS also published an interactive map which allows users to search by postcode for the number of confirmed deaths involving Covid-19 where they live.

The figures include the number of deaths taking place up to June 30 and registered before July 11, including throughout the Portsmouth area.

ONS says there were 50,574 coronavirus-related deaths in England and Wales between March 1 and June 30.

This represented nearly 23 per cent of the total deaths in that period
