Day-trippers from Portsmouth sent 150 miles home from Corby in Northamptonshire after having 'no excuse' to be in town

The men had travelled to the town from Portsmouth on Friday and after a three-hour journey they were stopped in Corporation Street and asked why they were there.
Both men, one in his late teens, the other in his early 20s, admitted that they had no reasonable excuse and were issued a fixed penalty notice of £200 each.

Hide AdA spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: ‘Following the checks officers did in Corby town centre, they found two men in their late teens to early 20s in Corporation Street who had travelled all the way from Portsmouth to Corby with no reasonable excuse - both fined and directed to go home.’
