New coronavirus testing site to open in Fareham car park

A WALK-THROUGH Covid-19 testing site for appointments will open in the Cams Alders car park tomorrow.

The Department of Health and Social Care is opening the site in the car park near the recreation ground on Palmerston Drive, off Newgate Lane.

The site will operate on an appointment only basis.

Other appointment-only, walk-in test centres are running from the Eldon car park at the University of Portsmouth, North Harbour Road in Portsmouth, and the car park next to Havant Leisure Centre on Civic Centre Road, Havant.

The Eldon car park site site is run by the Department of Health and Social Care. Portsmouth City Council, local NHS organisations and the university are not involved in the operation of the site.

Anyone with coronavirus symptoms can get a free swab test that takes less than a minute.

Tests should be booked or ordered as soon as symptoms begin at nhs.uk/coronavirus or by calling 119.

The Department of Health and Social Care aims to provide results within 24 hours.
