During August there were a total of two deaths in all of Hampshire. This is a reduction across the county compared to previous months as there were 190 in May, 35 in June and eight in July.

A total of 62 care home deaths linked to Covid have been recorded in Southampton. The last death was recorded on July 9.

Some of the weekly figures increase in later data releases when more deaths from the period are notified to CQC.

It comes as figures from government showed an increase in the Covid infection rate in Portsmouth as there were 15 new cases recorded in the week up to August 29, compared to 10 in the week up to August 22.
