She said: ‘We had one positive case in our Year 4 bubble, and have since followed the advice from health authorities and closed that bubble.

‘Home learning is in place so school will continue in that way, and we expect everyone to be back on December 4.

‘We have done all that we can to reduce infections and I am confident there won’t be further transmission of the virus.’

For those families who don't have the hardware, the school will be issuing tablet computers so that pupils can still partake in classes.

Mrs Kirby has urged families to remain calm about the spreading of Covid-19, reassuring them that everything is under control.

‘I appreciate that this has been a very worrying time for everyone,’ she said.

‘But children are very resilient to coronavirus and we will do everything we can to support the families affected.

‘For parents, things could be difficult over the next two weeks, but we have all just got to pull together and support one another.’
