Dementiasessions atFishbournePalace

A programme of dementia-friendly arts and cultural activities begins at Fishbourne Roman Palace next week.

Events take place between April 11 and May 29, including crafts, tours, and singing sessions especially designed for those living with dementia and their carers, as part of the Living Well with Dementia Festival. 

Fishbourne Roman Palace is hosting three sessions from 2.45pm to 4pm based around the collections and exploring some ancient craft techniques.

The first, on Wednesday, offers participants an opportunity to find out how fabric was made in Roman times, to experiment with some weaving and spinning techniques, and to try some replica Roman costumes.

On Wednesday, April 27, there will be the opportunity to handle some original Roman pottery. The final session on May 11, is themed on marble.

Sessions cost £5 per person and include tea and biscuits. Places should be booked in advance by phoning 01243 785859.
