Hampshire college student diagnosed with coronavirus
A STUDENT from a Hampshire college has been quarantined after being diagnosed with coronavirus.
The Peter Symonds College student is now in self-isolation after bosses at the Winchester college said they were told by Public Health England that one of their students had been diagnosed with the COVID-19 virus.
A letter from the college to parents said: ‘We have been made aware by Public Health England that one of our students has been diagnosed with coronavirus. This student is isolating at home.’
The person was taken to a treatment centre in London, according to the Department for Health and Social Care.
The number of cases of coronavirus quadrupled in Hampshire from two on Saturday to eight on Sunday.
So far 273 people across the country have tested positive for the disease and three have died.
