Technology and engineering recruitment specialist ARM has offered use of its offices in Havant to Brain Tumour Research.

ARM’s gesture is in aid of the national charity’s work at its flagship centre of excellence at the University of Portsmouth.

The donation means that Brain Tumour Research’s community fundraising manager Tim Green can use the office space and equipment to further his work in engaging with the community.

Tim said: ‘It is great for me to be in such a central location from which I can better engage with the community and our centre of excellence.

‘The office here at ARM has a great vibe and is a really dynamic environment.

‘I cannot thank them enough for their amazing support.’

Andrew Vaughan, team manager at ARM, said: ‘We’re delighted that the team here at ARM is able to support Brain Tumour Research in this way.

‘Making a difference is not always about raising
money, and with the local connection to the university, we felt that this would be of great value on a day-to- day basis.’

ARM’s office at Langstone Technology Park is eight miles from Brain Tumour Research’s centre on the university’s campus.

Led by Professor Geoff Pilkington, the hub houses the largest team of laboratory scientists.

More than £4m was raised for the charity in 2015 to fund the scientists’ research for a cure to brain tumours.

Robin Meltzer, Brain Tumour Research’s director of fundraising, expressed the charity’s gratitude for ARM’s support.

He said: ‘Championing the work that we do through the use of office space is just as valuable as fundraising, and we thank Andrew and his team for making Tim so welcome.’

ARM team manager Andrew has also spoken of his excitement for ARM to participate again in the Wear A Hat fundraising day for Brain Tumour Research on March 31, 2017.

He said: ‘With Tim’s guidance, the day will be bigger and “hattier” than ever.’
