Leaked report shows £577m savings plan across Hampshire healthcare

A £577m savings plan has been leaked revealing changes the NHS will look to make in Hampshire over the next few years.

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Sustainability and Transformation Plan looks at healthcare across the county and how the NHS can save money while meeting the needs of patients.

Within the report, there is a £577m savings plan which includes reducing the number of hospital beds by 300 and selling up to 19 per cent of the NHS’ estate.
BBC Radio Solent, which has seen the report, is also saying some patients will have to travel further for care including those on the Isle of Wight.

It is unclear what care may move or where the specific cuts will be made.
