New defibrillator installed at Cowplain club
Bar supervisor Emma Boothroyd said: ‘We’re really proud of the club for providing the defibrillator. It’s a great device, easy to use and I really hope more groups follow our example.’
A defibrillator shocks the heart back into action, which can increase the chances of surviving a cardiac arrest by as much as 50 per cent.

The equipment used to require hours of training, but now portable, automatic defibrillators are available that can be used anywhere. This means that even amateur first-aiders can administer them with minimal instruction, delivering vital life-saving action.
