Next month she is putting on a prosecco night with prizes including tickets to Thriller Live at the Portsmouth Guildhall, a swimming voucher from The Pyramids and Playzone vouchers.

Tickets cost £5 in advance or £6 on the door for the September 14 event at the Blue Lagoon in Hilsea.

She said: 'What started out as an idea when chatting to women in my support group has almost become a reality. We have a group of women from all over the county who have shared their scars and stories for the journal. It is so inspirational.

'But we are not quite there yet as we need extra funding to help with printing costs which is why we came up with the idea of holding a ladies' night. I can't wait as it is going to be so much fun.'

There will be singing from Katie-Louise Ball, who is performing at Victorious Festival with her mixture of original acoustic folk and pop tracks. Tickets are available from the North End branch.
