Mark Chapman, chairman of Hampshire Fire Brigade Union, said: ‘Cosham Fire Station is on one of the main routes to QA Hospital – ambulances pass the station every day.

‘The coronavirus places such a burden on those who work in the NHS and we wanted them to know that we are grateful for everything they do.

‘By doing this they can see that we are thinking of them every time they pass. Cosham firefighters have big hearts and I am very proud to work with people who are willing to make such a kind-hearted gesture.
