Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust launch Pride of Portsmouth Awards to recognise staff

HEALTHCARE staff who have gone above and beyond this year will have the chance to get recognised by colleagues and patients in an annual awards ceremony.

Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust’s (PHU) is hosting its annual Pride of Portsmouth Awards to highlight teams and individuals who have gone the extra mile this year.

Members of the public will have the chance to nominate staff who have cared for them or their loved ones in the Patient’s Choice Award, which is being supported by The News.

The other 12 categories will be nominated for by PHU colleagues and includes three new awards for military, education and research work after the trust was awarded university hospital status and a gold award in the defence employer recognition scheme this year.

PHU chief executive Mark Cubbon said: ‘The Pride of Portsmouth Awards is a fantastic opportunity for us to recognise and celebrate the amazing achievements of those working within the trust. This year has been a challenging one for everyone and I am incredibly proud of the way our colleagues have responded, continuing to provide exceptional care and compassion during difficult circumstances.

‘We are delighted The News is supporting the Patient’s Choice Award this year and look forward to seeing the fantastic stories our staff and the communities we serve.’

For this year’s Patient’s Choice Award, readers will be invited to share their nominations via a survey which can be filled out by clicking here.

PHU staff can nominate a colleague or team from the trust in one of the other categories via the staff intranet.

The deadline for nominations is Tuesday, September 22.
