Southern Health NHS Trust to feature in new BBC Louis Theroux documentary

SOUTHERN Health NHS Trust and Louis Theroux have been working together for a new BBC documentary on post-partum mental health.

Mothers on the Edge will follow four women, their babies and their families as they battle a variety of mental health issues and the NHS Trust’s Mother and Baby Unit in Winchester is featured in the programme.

Louis said: ‘I enjoyed being on the units. I found them to be very human, warm places. There have been cuts in funding across the board in the NHS, but these units are one area where authorities have maybe had a sense that they need funding.’

The documentary is set to air on BBC2 on May 12 at 9pm.
