10 memories of families making a splash at the Pyramids Centre pool in Southsea

The Pyramids Centre’s swimming pool is set to be replaced, it has been announced.

Under plans revealed this week, the pool will be transformed into a children’s play and bounce area.

This will include replacing it with soft play, climbing and trampolines.

It is part of a £2.5 million renovation of the leisure centre which will also see it given a state-of-the-art gym.

The existing gym regenerated into specialist studios for classes such as spin.

Following the announcement this week, there was an outcry from residents who were shocked by the news that the swimming pool will be replaced.

So, we decided to dive into The News archives to find photos of people enjoying the pool at the Pyramids Centre.
