Station street 1973. It is December 1973 and we have four places to have a drink within fifty yards. To the left is the Criterion, then the Claremont Hotel. Crossing Station Street we have Judds Railway Hotel and then a restaurant, a fancy goods shop and another pub, the Lennox Arms. To the left of the Criterion is a tobacconist and then another pub, the Albany. The crane would be working on the beginnings of the new civic offices in Guildhall Square.
