THE witch’s hat design is one of the most iconic features on pubs across Portsmouth.

A number of still operating boozers as well as a handful of long lost taverns all featured witch’s hats, which were often found on Brickwood’s Brewery pubs.
Dating back to at least the 18th century, this pub was close to the navy dockyard. It was given a witch's hat during a rebuild in early 1900s. It closed in 1970s. Photo: -
