I’m sure plenty of you have some memories of these stunning old buildings. Of course some of these hotels are now sadly demolished and others have different uses these days, but are mostly unchanged on the outside.

In this selection you will see the fire that devastated the Royal Beach Hotel in July 1911, the odd scene of a Bristol biplane outside the Royal Hotel, Hayling Island, in the same year, wounded soldiers being entertained at the Queen's Hotel, Southsea, during the First World War and The Central Hotel, just after the end of the war, completely wrecked during the blitz of January 10/11, 1941.
