Here we are looking over Bedhampton before the mass building of the 1950s.

The A27 runs across the bottom of the photograph with the Hulbert Road junction on the left. The road runs into the distance heading for Waterlooville through countryside.

The lane running out to the top right is Park Lane and if followed would end up at Cowplain where there was a junction with the London Road.

• A view over Commercial Road with Charlotte Street running from bottom centre. To the left is the junction with Lake Road.

The triangular car park at the top of the photograph is now a Tesco and NCP multi-storey car park. Where the cars are parked bottom right is now Cascades. Bottom left is the top of the Tricorn.

To the left of the tower block can be seen several dozen cars parked on wasteland, anything to get away with paying I suppose.
