Hampshire school caterers create online recipes to help families during lockdown

HAMPSHIRE County Council’s main school caterers have produced a series of online recipes for parents to provide nutritious meals on a budget.

With schools closed to reduce the spread of coronavirus, children entitled to school free school meals are no longer getting this provision by attending school .

With the government’s supermarket voucher scheme for free school meal children starting on Monday, Hampshire’s HC3S catering team are sharing recipes and top tips to help residents make the most of their food at home during the coronavirus pandemic.

The first week’ s menu suggestions will include super green soup, spicy sardine pasta, breakfast tacos and easy paella.

Councillor Stephen Reid said: ‘The Coronavirus pandemic has made many of us think differently about what ingredients we already have at home and what we can buy.

‘HC3S has produced a great mix of online recipes and food tips to help everyone get the most of out of their cupboard and fresh ingredients.’ Recipe and tips can be found on the council website – click here to find them.
