Fresh ingredients and authentic Vietnamese dishes are the foundations of a trendy restaurant in Southsea.

Viet Quan, in Landport Terrace, has quickly become a firm favourite for places to eat within the city. The venue dishes up traditional Vietnamese street food which has gone down a treat as the team build up a loyal customer base.

Co-owner, Vu Doan, and his team, have worked hard over the past year to ensure that customers are being served the best of the best - and it has certainly paid off. With a fantastic scope of dishes on the menu, there is something for everyone.

“One of our most popular dishes is steamed aubergine, customers absolutely love that one and, believe it or not, vegan squid, which is made from Japanese starch and the texture and taste is just like squid - they seem to love that.

“Amongst other dishes is shaking beef - we use angus steak for all of our beef dishes and the shaking beef is very very popular.”

Summer rolls, salt and pepper prawns, noodle soup, garlic chow chow, mango salad and salt and pepper tofu are just some of the delights that can be ordered at the venue.

He added: “There’s a lot of variety and it’s very health conscious. Everything is fresh. We use very fresh produce, we make everything in house on the spot rather than pre-cooking.

“It seems to be very popular - it’s a good location but again we get a lot of customers coming back which I think is a good sign - and they are the loveliest people, very kind, very helpful people.”
